New Seasons…
I was invited to a Blessingway for my friend who is having a baby in just a few short weeks. Unfortunately I’m unable to attend but I sent a personal letter and prayer to her prior to this sweet occasion.
It got me thinking about new seasons…particularly motherhood.
Parenting is such an amazing opportunity. Nothing can prepare you for it but nothing comes close to the awe-inspiring moments which will leave you breathless… and so in love w/ your little one.
As a new mom, I’ve learned so much from my sweet baby. At 10 1/2 months, she crawls and walks by holding onto our hands. She loves holding the sides of her crib to walk the perimeter too. She falls everyday. But what I’ve noticed is that each time she falls, she wants to stand back up. She doesn’t want to stay down.
I love that about her.
Maybe all babies are that way…but I’ve only been a mom to one.
She is my first.
My favorite.
My little soul who God gave me to love, raise and protect.
But it got me thinking that just as I carefully watch over my sweet baby as she ventures into this new season of walking and crawling, God watches over us even more closely….knowing that we will need His help, guidance and strength even more as we venture into a new season.
So as we transition into new seasons, my hope is that we feel Jesus even nearer.
May we feel His strength when we’re tired.
May we hear His wisdom when we don’t know what to do.
And may we see His beauty in the eyes, hands, feet and soul of others.

PRAYER:
“Most Gracious Lord, Help us remember, in all moments of our days, that taking time to cultivate a close relationship with our children is what will open their hearts for you. Give us strength and grace to listen to their dreams, to comfort them in their sorrows, and to make ourselves available to their needs. Help us remember that they want our attention more then our service. Thank you that you made yourself available to people and that you that you always make time for each of us. Amen. “
